Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.
Eckhart Tolle
So why is it so hard to move on? Pretty simple, we have a powerful emotional bond with whatever we’re having a hard time letting go of.
As a result, we’re constantly revisiting what hurts us. We keep going back because we don’t know how to move forward. Because when you’re emotionally bound to an object or person. That emotional attachment makes it hard to forget about that person or thing and the situation. Therefore, you’re still very programmed to feel the feelings associated with that person or thing.
One way I’ve found to assist in letting go of some past wounds is by helping my clients identify all of the feelings they had associated with those painful memory moments. Once they identify the feeling, they can begin to process those feelings by releasing them. Nothing can’t be released without first understanding the attachment to it. Watch the video for a more in-depth approach to moving forward and letting go even when it’s hard.
Don’t forget to share this with someone you love.
