Regrets will rust your soul. Don’t be afraid of things like failure or making mistakes. You have this backwards because it’s never about the fears. The fears are a mere representation of what’s being presented at the surface level.
You’re not thinking about the deeper question. And that is, what if things remained exactly the same in your life a year from now? How about 5? Or 10? You’re distracted by your fears when regrets are what need scrutinizing.
Why? Well, here’s the thing, some people will say, “I don’t have any regrets because everything has brought me here to this point in time.” I dig that and share the same sentiment.
But, what now though? Times are not the same. Why would they be? So much has happened that most of us are swinging from one extreme of the pendulum to another. Often feeling moment to moment that things matter to things not mattering much at all.
So, what’s the point?
The point is YOU though! You have to live with yourself for however long you physically will. The years creep up like waves chasing the sand away. Regrets will hold you in an arm hold if you don’t take action now. Begin with writing on paper the things that you want to create.
Then create a growth list. List the things that if you grew into them, how can they be domino themselves into other areas of your life. Remember, some things you complete may have zero impact. You want residual impact because you did that thing; and it keeps giving back to you 100 folds.
Acknowledge the regrets that you will have in your life if you don’t begin chipping away at your dreams. Then decide which is greater.
